Malda Division under Eastern Railway Initiates "Door-to-Door Garbage Collection" for Cleaner Railway Colonies

In a part of Swatch Bharat Avijan, Malda Division is committed to ensuring a clean and green environment for both its passengers and residents of railway colonies. To achieve this goal, the Environment and Housekeeping Management Department (EnHM) of Malda division has deployed cleaning staff to Bhagalpur railway colonies and other railway colonies under Malda Division, including Malda, Sahibganj, and Jamalpur. The cleaning staff will facilitate the collection and safe disposal of garbage, ensuring a clean and garbage-free environment for all residents.

The Door-to-Door Garbage Collection initiative aims to raise awareness about cleanliness among the residents of railway colonies. This initiative is part of Malda Division's efforts to foster a culture of cleanliness and hygiene.

In addition to this initiative, Malda Division is actively conducting frequent awareness campaigns to promote cleanliness across railway premises and colonies. The division urges all passengers and rail users to cooperate in maintaining cleanliness on trains, platforms, and station premises. Recently Malda division make a special drive for cleanliness in Railway premises and collect a huge amount from the Railway passengers as a penalty charges for littering garbages here and there inside coaches or railway station premises .
